As I have watched the events of the Coronavirus outbreak unfold in the news over the last few weeks, as we all have, I've been feeling a mix of emotions as I've had to make some decisions on the current running procedures of Norwich Massage Company. Due to current government guidelines as instructed, which are developing daily as we all know, more and more of us are choosing to self isolate and focus on the health and well being of those closest to us.
As only essential contact with others is being advised currently, and with the health and well being of my clients being my primary business concern, Norwich Massage Company will be temporarily suspending treatments for the next few weeks. As the guidelines evolve and change, we will aim to evolve with them. Hopefully it won't be too long until treatments are up and running as normal once the virus is under control, please visit the Facebook and Instagram pages regularly for start date announcements.
If you have a treatment booked in over the coming weeks please hold tight and I will be in contact soon to ensure you are re booked. If you have any queries at all please do not hesitate to get in touch on 07795071606 or email norwichmassagecompany@gmail.com
Self care is of high importance to Norwich Massage Company and I urge you at this critical time to practice this as much as you can. Here are a few tips to help incorporate this into your new daily routines:
Get enough sleep! Turn of the devices a little earlier, make your sleep environment a peaceful and clutter free one. Retreat early with a book and some restorative herbal tea and your mind and immune system will thank you for it.
Find relief in nature, if you are lucky enough to live near some beautiful woodland or countryside make use of it, there's a lot to be said for good old fashioned fresh air (your mum was not wrong!) and not only can a brisk walk outside boost our mood, many research suggests that it can also be good for our immune system. I've found a run around our deserted local woodland to my favourite playlist every morning has done wonders for my sanity!
Nourish yourself with plenty of fresh feel good food and fill your body with an array of vital vitamins and nutrients, to avoid adding to the local supermarket crowds why not subscribe to a fruit and vegetable delivery scheme. There are lots around selling high quality organic produce and other essentials.
Water, water, water! So important - and if you are a current client I've probably already bored you with a lecture about the importance of getting enough! Not only is it beneficial for our muscles when we are experiencing aches and pains it also plays a part in detoxification and immunity. Remember to also keep coffee (an inflammatory) and alcohol to a minimum.
Limit your access to news and social media, while some can be positive and help us feel connected, reading too much into the daily updates on Covid-19 can add to our stress levels. Give yourself time away from electronics, and invest in other things to feed you soul. A good book, time with your family, cooking a new meal, call a loved one or maybe doing some gardening or journaling.
Breathe! Check out some of the many apps and you tube videos out there on mindful breathing and meditation practices if you feel yourself getting overwhelmed. There's also lots of fabulous yoga and stretching tutorials for those needing to give their muscles a little bit of self care!
How Norwich Massage Company can help you?
I feel incredibly grateful to the thousands of service workers during the corona outbreak, not just hospital staff but to those people dedicated to refilling those supermarket shelves day after day to keep supplies in stock. Once normal business has resumed I will be offering £10 off a massage treatment for all NHS and supermarket staff for a whole month. A thank you to those putting themselves in the firing line every day for our well being. I will also be extending the Spring Offer until June.
